We are delighted to start 2017 with a new corporate identity and simplified name as well as with two solo shows: DELPHINE REIST’s installations demonstrate how our technology based world of work is dispersed/melts away between function and dysfuntion, while GUILLERMO KUITCA transforms architecture, theatre and cartography into atmospheric compositions in his paintings.
Spring is dominated by the group exhibition EXTENDED COMPOSITIONS. The exhibition presents a network of relationships spanning art and music, sight and hearing, image and sound with a variety of media such as video, installation and performance.
The summer exhibitions show on the one hand the painting of RACHEL LUMSDEN, in which the field between materiality and the creation of illusion is plumbed, and on the other video and photography by the artist born in Biel, MARIE JOSE BURKI. She captures a world between image and language which is at the same time strange and familiar.
As the prize winner of the Manor Art Prize 2015 LIVIA DI GIOVANNI is showing the largest exhibition of her career, while the Slovenian artist’s group IRWIN is both committed to the examination of Eastern European art history and questions its political dynamic in its conceptual practice. These two exhibitions this autumn will be completed by the theatrical project DER EINZIGE ORT.
The CANTONALE BERNE JURA at the end of the year offers a diverse glimpse in artistic activity in the region.
We look forward to an eventful and surprising year of art and would be very happy to be able to welcome you soon to Kunsthaus Pasquart.
