Die Gruppenausstellung SERIOUSLY IRONIC präsentiert zum ersten Mal Positionen der zeitgenössischen türkischen Kunstszene in der Schweiz. Zu dieser bedeutenden Ausstellung wurden 14 aufstrebende oder bereits etablierte junge türkische KünstlerInnen eingeladen, die für diese neue Kunstszene repräsentativ sind. Durch die Auswahl der teilnehmenden Kunstschaffenden und ihrer Werke, werden verschiedene künstlerische Positionen vorgestellt: Ausgelotet werden sowohl ernste Anliegen wie die persönliche Geschichte, die Suche nach Identität, soziale, feministische, Umwelt- oder politische Anliegen wie auch konzeptuelle und ironische Ansätze.

Zur Ausstellung erscheint im Verlag für moderne Kunst Nürnberg eine reich illustrierte, dreisprachige Publikation (deutsch/französisch/englisch).

SERIOUSLY IRONIC will for the first time in Switzerland present in a group exhibition Turkish Contemporary art scene in Switzerland. 15 either emerging or established young Turkish artists, who are representative for the contemporary Turkish art scene, are invited to this important exhibition. With the choice of the artists and their works different interests of the artists will be shown: The range is between serious facets, as personal history, search of identity, social, feministic, environmental or political concerns, as well as conceptual visual approaches and bracing irony.
